The Story

I am a failed wage-earner.

That’s right.  I’m not afraid to admit it.  After years of being the top sales performer on my team and then moving into an exciting new opportunity within my company, I was out.  Hey, it happens to the best of us.  While I was disappointed that my employer decided to outsource my new team’s responsibilities rather than continue to build it up from within, I was grateful for the experience and training I’d been given.  I was down, not out.

I took a step back.

Given my career path so far, I took the new freedom I possessed and thought long and hard about what I’m truly passionate about.  What I realized was that I found sales to be a fascinating and challenging world, marketing to be fun and refreshing, and writing to be something for which I will always have an unabashed love.  I wanted to combine all three into one project.

Enter The Sales Storyteller.

As I continue to keep an eye open for opportunities out in the world and build on my freelance copywriting business, I launched The Sales Storyteller to tie all three of these skills together to explore the art of storytelling in our everyday lives.  I called it The Sales Storyteller because I believe we use stories to “sell” in every interaction we have – whether it’s talking with a customer, tweeting a friend, or emailing your mother.  I want to examine the art of a good story and provide you with the best possible tools for creating your own stories to build better, stronger relationships in your everyday life.
